Antique 17th Century Pumtek Handmade Carved and Dyed Opalized Petrified Wood Stone Beads Necklace Acquired in Mizoram, North East India. It Overall Measures Approx 26 Inches Long and is Simply Strung on Clear Filament.
45 of the beads in this necklace strand are the typical 6 hole-to-hole stripes round design. There are also 2 geometric (giraffe spots-like) design round beads and 2 horizontal stripes and zigzag design round beads. The center bead is a large round with 12 hole-to-hole stripes. Then, there are also 6 flat square beads with the holes going corner to corner forming diamond shapes on the necklace.
I purchased this amazing collectors piece at Carson’s Antiques in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands in 2004. It was already an antique and well worn at that point and still bears the original tag from when I bought it! I can provide a copy of the receipt for Provenance if you request it when you pay after winning the auction.
